WHO IS BTS?
BTS (an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan) is a South Korea group with rappers and vocalists consisting of the members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook;
The group was formed in 2010, and debuted on June, 2013, by BigHit Entertainment, originally as a hip-hop group on the release of the single 'No More Dream'.
Gaining recognition for their authentic and self-produced music, top-notch performances, and the way they interact with their fans, BTS has established themselves as “21st century Pop Icons” breaking countless world records. The group has a diverse musical sound in which it includes several musical genres, including Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, EDM and more.
• The name of the group means "Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단)" in Korean, literally translated as "Bulletproof Boy Scouts". According to member j-hope, the name means the group's desire "to block stereotypes, criticism and expectations aimed at teenagers like bullets".
In July 2017, BTS announced that its name would also mean "Beyond the Scene" as part of its new brand identity, this extended its name to mean "young people growing BTS who are going beyond the realities they are facing and going forward."
• The name of their fandom, "BTS ARMY" has 2 meanings. In addition to being considered as an “army” in English; meaning that fans are the army of armor that protect bulletproof boys, the name is also an acronym for “Adorable Representative M.C of Youth”.
• Purple became a symbolic color to the group and fans after member V, in 2016 during a concert, created the phrase "I Purple You (보라해 = Borahae)", explain that "purple means that I will love you and trust you for a long time."
• BTS initially had a logo that referred to a bulletproof vest, but in 2017, along with the meaning of the acronym, the logo was changed.
It means "the youth who opens the door and moves on", fans also received their own logo which connects with the group logo.
